The Calgary Sun
What began as a class project for a group of University of Calgary students has turned into a business benefitting those who need it the most.
Bundles of Hope sells baby swaddling blankets provided by Calgary low-income mothers. With each purchase, the company donates a day’s worth of diapers to the Calgary Food Bank, giving low-income moms a better chance at affording the daycare needed to work.
The students’ business plan was submitted RBC’s Fast Pitch Competition, making it to the finals where they were awarded the viewer’s choice award. They’ve also earned praised from several organisations and entrepreneurship competitions.
On Monday, Bundles of Hope kicks off a 45-day crowd investment campaign through ATB’s BoostR program, with the most popular ones given a chance to access further investment opportunities.
